Update – Has Pix6.com Now Got it Right
Back in 2012, our team took a look at Pix6.com. We determined this online lottery service provider didn’t make the grade. Pix6.com has recently done a face lift on their site so it was time to take another look. There is no question they have cleaned up the site, but is that enough. Let’s go take a look.
Games at Pix6.com
Pix6.com offers online purchasing for ten lotteries and one weekly special that is a combination of US Powerball and Mega Millions. This is straight individual tickets or subscriptions of five or ten draws. There are no syndicates (group plays) available. The service charges above the fact value of the tickets are clearly set out. The weekly special does seem to be a good value.
Pix6 and Winning
Prizes under USD 600 are credited straight to your account. For prizes over USD 600, players are provided with a form and their original ticket to collect their win. Pix6.com says they will help. Reading through their FAQ, it appears there are no fees or commissions taken on winnings. Withdrawals under $20 incur a $1 service charge. Note I said FAQ! There are no terms and conditions, and even finding the FAQ was a challenge. There is nothing on their menu, but requires digging into “Available Lotteries” and finding the highlighted info “How it Works”. There is no information on taxes.
Who Can Play?
There is no information regarding who can play except that you must be at least 18 years of age. The other interesting thing that we found was that you must use the name on the credit card and zip code of the cardholder. We’re guessing that this sorta indicates that you must be American. That’s the only place I know where zip code are used. Even Canada uses postal codes.
The Face Lift at Pix6.com
Part of the reason we went and took another look at Pix6.com is that their site designer was in touch with us announcing the face lift. Sorry, Debra – still not good enough. Before you spend any more time designing an online lottery service provider, I suggest you take a look at some of the basic elements of our trusted providers and re-read our original review.
Pix6.com’s Customer Service
Getting in touch with Pix6.com, keep an eye on the clock. They are available from 8:00 to 1:30 Monday to Friday by telephone. There is also an email address – does anyone still use AOL as a provider? There is a location in Pennsylvania but no actual address and no live chat. There is a sister site – 44lotto.com – where the FAQ does offer additional email addresses and does have its own menu tab. Click on anything there and it pops you to Pix6.com. Why bother?
The Bottom Line at Pix6
There is no indication that this site is a scam, but – yes the big but – there are just too many things missing. Our team also couldn’t get their head around why Pix6.com would go to the trouble to set up a new site that simply links back to the original.
Good Weekly Special
Clear Times When Customer Service Is Available
No Terms & Conditions
Hard to Find FAQ
Limited Customer Service
Sorry Debra – we still give this site a thumbs down. You get full marks for cleaning the site up from the original noisy, messy display, but it still doesn’t meet the minimum requirements we use for playing lotteries online.
