Winloot Exposed — If You Have Nothing to Do, Go for It!

Last updated on by

Trick or Treat at Winloot.com

Looking at Winloot.com, our team had a chuckle. There was an argument on whether the name reminded them more of Halloween or bank robbers. Winloot is an email scavenger and advertising site that masks as a free daily sweepstakes. We’re not saying they aren’t for real, but it’s important to look at the details and know what you’re getting into. It’s pretty upfront with the fact that you have to go through a variety of promotional sites just to get registered. Want to know more? Let’s go take a look.

The Games at Winloot

This is another one of those combination email scavenger and advertising site. Before you get your numbers for the winloot.com sweepstake, you have to go through a variety of promotional sites. Each of their 12 sweepstakes involves this. Once you’ve responded to each of the promotions, then you pick your numbers (or use quick pick) for that particular sweepstake. There are chances to win $100, $500, $1,000, $2,500, $5,000, $100,000 and $1,000,000; $100 Bonus, $500 Bonus, $1,000 Bonus, $2,500 Bonus and $5,000 Bonus. But you have to play each one to get to the one million dollar sweepstakes – and you have to do it daily.

Winloot.com and Winning

Winners will be notified within thirty days after the draw. Then they – the winner(s) have thirty days to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release along with a recent picture. If you don’t do this within thirty days you forfeit the win. Winloot.com says that sweepstake number combinations can only be picked once at the same time they say if there are multiple winners, they share in the prizes. Okay folks, which is it?

Who Can Play at Winloot Website

Players must be 18 years of age and live in the United States, Canada, Australia and the UK. Players in Puerto Rico and the Province of Quebec cannot play. Then in another part of their site, they say Winloot is ‘licensed and bonded’ in New York and Florida so people that live there are eligible to play. We’re not sure why they made this point or originally that was the target market, it expanded and they forgot to amend their text.

Complaints! Complaints! Complaints!

Looking at Winloot, it’s hilarious all the complaints – some quite creative. It’s a combination of people who say they have played for years and never won, and people who are still fighting their way through spam emails. One guy claims he started receiving up to 300 a day.

Who Is Winloot?

This site was created by ex-staff from Publishers Clearing House – one of the biggest free sweepstakes that masks email scavenging and advertising for an extensive product line. It appears Winloot.com simply copied the concept and opened up their own shop.
The only way to talk to Winloot.com is using their online form. Our team did dig deeper and tracked down a snail mail, email and telephone number, but it did take some digging and is not posted on their site.

The Bottom Line

Keep in mind that to get to the one million dollar sweepstakes draw, you have to play 11 other games and/or respond to various promotional advertising. If you have nothing better to do than sit and work your way through each, go for it. Add to that time, deleting (or responding to) lots and lots of spam email that will descend on your email address.

Pros:

Folks, this is a company that is mining for email addresses and contact points to distribute to people that pay for these lists. One these guys get a hold of your email address and personal details, you have no idea how far they might share it!
