Troppolotto Review

I have to say from the very beginning that you won’t find the usual lotteries like UK Thunderball or Mega-Sena at Troppolotto.com. What you will see is a single sweepstake style lottery where players can enter once each day. It’s free which led me to wonder how they chose their name. Wouldn’t ‘Freeplay’ or “HereWinFree’ be more appropriate to get the message across. Of course, my next thought is how do these guys get the prizes and pay themselves if it is free.

Meet Troppolotto.com

I thought I was going to have to dig deep to figure out how these guys work, but Troppolotto.com is very straightforward. It offers a single game, and that’s it. Players are invited to select seven numbers from 1 to 50 daily, and then click on one of the Troppolotto.com’s sponsor’s banner. Players must wait until the sponsor’s page fully loads or their entry is invalid. Draws occur daily at 2:00 pm PST.

Ready to Trade Privacy for a Potential Jackpot?

You did catch that bit about clicking on one of their sponsor’s banner. So what to do you agree? Troppolotto.com funds this game and makes money by the sponsors involved in their site and/or the fact you have agreed to receive information. Okay, they call them special offers, but your Inbox is about to get flooded with spam, advertising, and links to other sites. Some people have time for this and actually, enjoy receiving stuff – not me.

Can Anyone Play at Troppolotto?

It’s not until you get into the registration form that it becomes clear players have to have a zip code for the USA. Guess that’s the target market of their sponsors. If you do have a zip code the last click in registration “I agree to the rules and policies and to receive special offers from Troppolotto.com.”

Why Elderly People Play

Seniors are the ones that play sweepstakes-style games most often especially when they are free. They have the time, and it doesn’t matter what the prize – winning is winning! It is important though to keep in mind that the jackpot is in the form of an annuity is paid $25,000 per year for 40 years… it could be even a bigger gamble to be around still.

Not the Jackpot but Winning

Let’s look a little further at the potential prizes. Troppolotto.com does offer prizes for tickets that match four, five or six numbers. I’ll cut to the chase and tell you that four numbers will trigger the payout of one dollar (no typo and no cheesy joke either), five numbers will give you $20 and matching six out of the seven numbers awards a payout of $100. I don’t know about you, but since the odds of matching six numbers are 1 in 331,841 the $100 prize sounds to me like a serious long shot for not a heck of a lot. Then again, winning is winning, right?

Would you mind rating TroppoLotto.com?

The Bottom Line at Troppolotto.com

Did you notice the question mark? I think I’ve mainly talked myself out of this one. The opportunities for prizes seems too much of long shot for me against the aggravation of putting up with email and/or personal details being sold to every Tom, Dick, and Harry. I almost did it.

Pros:

It’s Free

A chance to say “I Won”!

Spam – and You Said They Could

If you have a lot of time on your hands, live in the United States and don’t mind receiving all kinds of stuff by email, sure go for it. I just popped into my mom’s computer and blocked the site – I can only imagine some the stuff she might start buying because of the fantastic deals, incredible offers and it’s all so convenient.

  1. I got 6 numbers right but never received an email from them on how to claim the money. I’m not playing this game anymore!

  2. I love playing lotteries online so when I saw this site, I simply rolled my eyes. Ya gotta remember – you get what you pay for. This free game means surfing through lots of sponsors and spam. An interesting way to advertise but definitely not for the serious lottery player!

  3. All choices for sponsor are yes or no. If you choose no for all will that disqualify you? If it doesn’t then you won’t get the spam, right?
    Thanks
