6 Easy Steps to Ruin Your Family and Career by Playing the Lottery

5 Easy Steps to Ruin Your Family and Career by Playing the Lottery

Playing the lottery can be very exciting and like any other activity that’s exciting, lottery can get you carried away. You might be on the wrong way long before you are aware of it. You have problems in the office, you’re fighting with your S/O, your friends and family are annoyed by your behavior. And all of this because you weren’t careful with how much you play the lottery. You better be careful about how, when and where you play the lottery. Here are 5 easy steps that lead to a complete disaster. Then again, it’s better to learn from other people’s mistakes, than from our own.

Not Setting a Ticket Buying Budget

If you’re one of the people who can get carried away easily, you should most definitely set a monthly budget for ticket buying and stick to it.

Here’s what’s going to happen if you don’t – you’re going to overspend every single time. Some people are impulsive ticket buyers and they splurge large amounts on the acquisition of the little pieces of paper that could potentially change their lives. On occasions, the sum can add up to hundreds and even thousands of dollars.

Once you do your monthly budget calculations, you can think about the amount that’s ok to dedicate to lottery activities. When going to buy tickets, this should be the amount you’re bringing along. Otherwise, the temptation will be way too big and you may end up spending more than what you intended.

Spending the Money Intended for Rent, Groceries, Bills on Lottery Tickets

This is a text book rule! I know of people who started spending money that weren’t intended to be spent on lottery tickets. Instead, the money was for other stuff, important stuff like rent or mortgage, groceries, bills, etc. Somebody has to fill the fridge and pay for the roof on your head. And who else if not you. I understand you completely! I want to play the lottery, but I want to have a roof over my head. I also want to have a fridge full with food, some soda, some ice cream, you get it. However, if I overspend on lottery tickets, the fridge is empty, the landlord will cause problems.

Money management is important if you want to become a veteran lottery player. Don’t burn out within a short period of time. You’ll be missing all the fun.

Letting Lottery Affect Your Work – Lottery Is Meant to be Played during Free Time

You probably have a daytime job. I had at one point in time, before I became a full time lottery player. Bear in mind, I have some freelance action which allows me to maintain a steady inflow of cash. My point is, while you’re in the office, you should do your tasks. Forget about the lottery during this 8 hour period. Once you’re at home, you can fully focus on the lottery. This way you’ll perform well at work and you’ll be able to come up with a much better strategy to seal the deal and finally win the jackpot of your dreams.

One battle at a time! Playing the lottery is an activity meant to be done at home!

Quitting Your Job So You Can Play the Lottery Full Time

I strongly recommend you rethink your decision if you’re already planning to abandon your work post for good. Remember how at the end of the month you start anticipating your paycheck? Well, if you quit, you can forget about it. You won’t have a steady income, guaranteed income. If you want to live a normal life, you better keep your job. Even more important, if you don’t have a reliable income you can’t say for certain that you will be able to play the lottery. You see, you can have it both ways.

A friendly advice, don’t quit your job so you can play the lottery. There’s time for everything, this is where time management takes the spotlight. Be responsible! I know you have to go the distance in order to succeed both at work and in the lottery, but that’s what makes you stand out from the rest.

On the other hand, if you have a decent portfolio of lotteries you’re playing with healthy returns, you just might consider going full time. But, only if you can find a job whenever you want. If, for example, you have a skill set with low demand, you better be careful. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Not Having Enough Time for Your Family

This has happened in the past, but what worries me is that it starts to happen a lot more often. This is the digital era. We spend most of the time looking at our smartphones or in front our computers. We’ve forgotten how to communicate with our loved ones. The lottery can make things even worse if you don’t pay attention to what you’re exactly doing. As you already know, a few years back, I took this course. I was too busy with my daytime job, the lottery and with my own things, I forgot about my family. Family is everything! No jackpot is worth that much.

Make sure you have time for everything. I know it’s tough, but it’s manageable. Instead of having dollars in your eyes, spend some time with your close ones, be that your family, your friends and your S/O.

Making Playing the Lottery a Priority – It’s a Hobby, Not a Profession

If we sum all of these we end up with only one conclusion. The lottery should not be a priority, at least not before your family, your career and overall social life. Yes, I do agree, the lottery is an amazing hobby, but it’s a hobby. It’s something that gets you excited, brings some extra cash and in the best case scenario, it’s an activity through which you can make new friends.

In simple words, it’s not a profession, nor it’s your best friend. Don’t let the excitement drag you to the lowest point you’ve ever been in your life. I take lottery like this. It’s not the thing that gets me up in the morning, playing the lottery just drives me. I know that the jackpot is ahead of me.
